Nothingness 2006

As I was doing some cleaning of a very old email database, I came across something I wrote on the 10th of July 2006. It’s interesting to realise that not much has really changed in 10 years. We need to work harder at making our society a more friendly place. So here is a poem called Nothingness; a reflection upon society.
Nothingness
There once was a little nothing.
It grew and grew.
It became larger.
Now there was a lot of nothingness.
There quickly became significantly nothing.
It grew and grew.
It became larger.
A whole lot of overwhelming nothingness.
There was now a vast quantity of great nothing.
It grew and grew.
It became larger.
Suddenly, there was so much nothingness.
The black hole of mankind that giveth nothing.
Now, I know … not the greatest poetry. I’m not a great poet, and I know it. Still, it makes us think. We need something: more kindness.
