The Concept of Time
Does time exist? Yes of course it does I hear you say! Look at my watch ticking furiously away. Yikes, another second gone and one less second of life left! Quick, quick, rush, rush! Got to get all those precious seconds in. Make it count, make it quick!
So does time really exist? Is it just a human mechanism to mark the passage of change? So what follows, are my beliefs and concepts. Everyone sees things differently but facts remain regardless of proof or belief.
The simple reality is that human beings are the only ones who wear time keeping mechanisms. Who has spotted the lesser known nocturnal watchus wearus owl? No one? Well, neither have I. There must be something in that.
There is a simple line to describe the universe which some people find hard to grasp. Everything just is. Energy is not created or lost. It just is. What is? Just is! The universe has no concept of time as we perceive it. All exists simultaneously. Past, present, and future.
It is hard for us to grasp all of this as we see ourselves along a physical timeline. Birth, life, death. That is just our perception of the physical. It is merely one manifestation of what we know of the universe. What we are really observing is a cycle of life. It has not been born or died but it is in constant momentum.
It is in the very second counting social habit in which we lose our precious time. Time for work, time for bed, time to eat. When is it time for us to just be?
Put your watches away and learn to enjoy the moment. It lasts an eternity and it just is.
