How do you want to feel?

We spend our lives planning down to the smallest details. Oh go on, try to deny it! We see the finer details of our houses, cars, assets, holidays, partners, even our children. There is nothing wrong with planning and I am one for always having a plan. Life usually follows other paths but nevertheless… I have a PLAN! As long as I have a plan I am more relaxed and able to move forward.
The trap of becoming obsessed with the detail or our plans is that we miss the obvious. How often do we stop and think about how our plans will “feel” when they come to fruition?
Oh it will feel good! How does “good” “feel”? It will make me happy! How will it make me happy and once again… How will it feel? Do we know? Do we experience and imagine the feeling ahead of time so that we are able to recognise it when it crosses our paths? So how does it feel to feel happy? Content?
Practice your imagination or draw on previous experience and rather aim for the “feeling” as opposed to the actual goal. Ultimately, no goal satisfies unless it fulfils. If we are to attain a level of contentment and joy we must concentrate on the feeling, emotion, and existence of all that brings us the happiness we deserve.
First stop is to practice to feel content at all times. The rest will follow.
