Do you want to know the 5 daily habits that will change your life today? I’m not just talking about the fluffy commercial hype that means so little, and achieves even less. If you want learn how to adopt some real habits that successful people cultivate, then this video is for you.

The older I get, the more I realise that some things are vital to a happy life, and others actually get in the way. These are my five daily habits and practices that keep me focused and motivated. I know that they will work for you too.
Ultimately, there is no exact order of importance for these habits. You will find that they work best in conjunction. In life, most things are interconnected, and it’s best to adopt a holistic approach. There is no single ‘hack’ or habit that can magically transform you into a unicorn.
[#1] Be proactive.
Being proactive is the quickest way to reach your dreams. Successful people don’t wait around for hand-outs. They don’t feel a sense of entitlement. Instead, they plot a course to success, and focus on their objectives.
Practice visualising your goals and see them as a destination for each day. How will it feel and look? Consider how you can get there, and create a plan. Even a bad plan is better than no plan at all because you can always perfect a bad plan. With no plan, you are starting from scratch.
If you have no idea where you are going, then how will you get there? Perhaps it’s time you found out. This is the first step in becoming a proactive person.
You are never going to get everything done, so stop trying. Instead, decide what is important to you, and why. Discovering the importance of your goals is a big help in prioritise them in order of relevance in your life.
Sorting and identifying your priorities will lead to fewer regrets. Each day will end with a great sense of accomplishment, and satisfaction.
What do you want to get done today? Go do that before your bedtime.
[#3] Optimise Your Time.
When you learn to optimise your time, you can accomplish so much more. This is actually more effective than multitasking. It never works and you generally end up with two poor results rather than one brilliant accomplishment.
Schedule enough time to finish one essential assignment, rather than leaving a multitude of tasks in various states of completion. You might not get everything done, but if you have prioritised, the crucial items on your list are done properly. The rest can wait.
You can actually multitask a manual chore with mental stimulation. I do. For example, I read a good book while on my exercise bike. On a good day, I get half an hour of extra reading. You could watch a motivational talk while you wash the dishes, for example. This is a productive use of your time. This is how effective time management is realised.
[#4] Be Open
Be open to others. Many people see this as a weakness, but the amount of energy that you put into the shroud of secrecy, could be better used to manifest joy and abundance.
Secrecy and avoidance is often a sign of insecurity. These are fear-based actions. Live your life as if you have nothing to hide, because if you do, it might be time to come clean.
The relief alone should be enough motivation to be more of yourself. Let people see the real you. If people don’t like it, send them on their way with your best wishes. You are better off moving on to a more suitable crowd anyway.
Lastly, [#5] Make Space.
Make space in your life for new things. Learn to give up something in order to let in fresh experiences. Our lives and spaces don’t thrive on clutter. When we clear out what we no longer have use for, we allow the surge of excitement and newness to take its place. Your days will be overflowing with welcomed change.
This also applies to friends and acquaintances. Everything has a season, and then life moves on. Some people come into your life and make themselves at home. Others depart in order to make space for the kind of people you want to be surrounded by, so never block their exit.
